Ceramic fiber paper and cloth are both great for heat insulation. They are refractory materials, so they help keep heat in or out. How can we better distinguish between ceramic fiber paper and ceramic fiber cloth? You can tell them apart by looking at these key aspects based on what you have learned and experienced:
1. Appearance: Ceramic fiber cloth shows clear grid patterns. In contrast, ceramic fiber paper has few or no grid patterns.
2. Density. The density of ceramic fiber paper is greater than that of ceramic fiber cloth.
3. Thickness. The thinnest ceramic fiber paper is 0.5 mm thick. In contrast, ceramic fiber cloth is thicker, with a least thickness of 2 mm.
4. Stiffness. You can stand ceramic fiber paper up like A4 paper in your daily life, and you can place it on a mold to stand upright. Ceramic fiber cloth is like the cloth we use in daily life, very soft and does not have stiffness.
5. Tear resistance. The toughness of ceramic fiber paper is not as good as that of ceramic fiber cloth.
