Carbon fiber cloth is an excellent material for reinforcing concrete structures. It is corrosion-resistant, strong, and fatigue-resistant. It has a steel-like elastic modulus.
Construction Procedure:
1. First, use an angle grinder to grind and clean the bottom of the beam and slab. Then, use a blower to remove the dust. This will ensure the bottom of the beam and slab is flat and clean.
2. Evenly apply resin-based adhesive on the beam and slab’s bottom surface. Then, paste the carbon fiber cloth.
3. When pasting the carbon fiber cloth, use a wide, thin tool. A coating scraper for decoration works well. Press the cloth flat with force. This will bond it to the beam and slab without bulges or bubbles.
4. After pasting, wait at least 5 hours. Then, apply a layer of resin-based adhesive evenly on the carbon fiber cloth to ensure quality.
Precautions:
1. If the bottom of the beam and slab is uneven or damaged, use leveling adhesive to repair it. This will ensure a flat surface before pasting the carbon fiber cloth.
2. The component’s concrete strength should not be lower than C15.
3. The construction temperature must be at least 5 degrees Celsius. The weather should be dry, with no rain. The concrete component must be dry. The humidity must not exceed 70%.
